We’re aware of the rapidly rising rate of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations throughout our state and we have seen this mirrored in our church family. Though churches are considered exempt from the revised government-mandated orders, we are not exempt from responsibility and wisdom. And so keeping in mind how to best care for our church family and demonstrate concern for our neighbors in our community, we believe it is prudent to update our mask policy.
For now here is what we need from our PBC family:
We require masks to be properly worn (covering nose and mouth) at all times while in the church building, regardless of physical distance.
The only exceptions are:
- Children under 5 years old
- Life Group Leaders, while teaching, provided the entire class is masked and the teacher is 6 feet or further from the closest person to them
- Worship team leaders on stage
- Health conditions (ie, asthma)
These changes are being laid out for the sole purpose of doing all we can to prevent the spread of disease causing a disruption in meeting together. We have a shared responsibility for making this possible. If safety is a concern or wearing a mask will distract you from worship, we invite you join us online.
It is critically important for us to remain unified as a church as we navigate through these days. While our opinions may differ, we all share a love for Christ. This is our opportunity to be light to the world by displaying our love and support for one another, as well as members of our community. Each of us need to do our part to preserve our vital and essential gathering as a church. Each of us need to do our part to protect the health and well-being of those we worship with and with whom we share life.
Thank you for doing your part.
